It's an EXCEPTIONAL day for fishing.
Water temperature, light winds, and cloud cover all favor fishing.
Substantial cloud cover may reduce glare and help fish feed beyond dawn and dusk.
Estimated water around 68°F is favorable for feeding. Preferred temperatures vary by species.
Winds around 3 mph in the morning and 6 mph in the afternoon. A light breeze should keep casting manageable while adding some surface ripple.
A little rain is possible, but the amount looks too small to affect fishing much.

Lake Conroe lies north of Houston, and there’s more than one kind of fishing trip here. The lower lake has broad open water and plenty of docks along developed shoreline. Farther north, you reach Sam Houston National Forest and stretches of the old river channel with standing timber. Some of that timber sits just below the surface, so take care when exploring by boat.
Largemouth bass get plenty of attention, but Conroe also has abundant channel catfish, crappie, bluegill and hybrid striped bass. If you enjoy sitting with bait, catfish are a year-round option. For bass, docks and other shallow cover can be worth working in spring and fall; in other seasons, deeper cover becomes part of the search too.
Without a boat, Lake Conroe Beach Park gives you a specific place to go: its fishing pier at 14968 Highway 105 West in Montgomery. There’s designated parking and paid admission. Check the opening hours before planning a dawn start, since the park follows its own seasonal schedule. It doesn’t have a boat ramp or allow you to launch your own kayak.
If you are bringing a boat, Cagle Recreation Area has a paved ramp and restrooms in the national forest. It’s one of several launch options around the lake. Choose your access to match the kind of trip you want, and don’t assume a waterfront dock is public just because it looks like a good place to fish.
