California Surf Fishing's
Custom Algorithm

Access a custom version of FishNotify, that is hand-tuned
by California Surf Fishing to reflect the conditions
that produce their best bites & hookups.

Hey! 👋 Gary & Kaspar here from California Surf Fishing
We’ve partnered with FishNotify to make a customized version of the FishNotify algorithm, that’s specifically tailored to the exact conditions that have given us our best (and most consistent) results.
We’ve spent thousands of hours on the beaches learning the best conditions & other factors that produce the most bites, and have integrated them into our custom FishNotify Algorithms:

"Bait Algo"

The bait algorithm will let you know the best times to fish nearshore reefs with cut bait.

At high tide, big fish move into nearshore reef structures and can be caught in numbers. Use 4oz+ sinkers with dropper loops to keep the bait pinned to the reef.

Species are rockfish, calico bass, cabezon, and sheephead.

"Lure Algo"

The best lure fishing is at low tide around mixed reef and sand structures.

With a greater sensitivity to wind and swell height, the lure algorithm will get you on the beach when predators are biting.

Use weedless swimbaits to prevent snagging. Target species are halibut, calico bass, and white seabass.

FAQs

When you subscribe, you will get access to a members-only page where you can use the new California Surf Fishing version of FishNotify.

It works the same way as regular FishNotify:  you input a location, and get a full week forecast / breakdown of the fishing conditions.

However, the result will be different because it uses a special algorithm, that California Surf Fishing has tuned themselves.

This version has a variety of differences:

1)  Uses a different algorithm that was meticulously tuned by California Surf Fishing to integrate their fishing knowledge and the specific conditions they personally like / don't like to fish.

2)  Comes with 2 different algorithms to use: the "Bait" algo, which tells you when to go fishing if you want to use bait, and the "Lure" algo, which tells when is best to go fishing if you want to use lures / artificials

3)  Get reports, bonus tips, etc directly from Gary so that you can get inside knowledge on current conditions out on the beaches

4)  Get weekly alerts from California Surf Fishing's "Bait" or "Lure" fishing forecast, instead of the regular FishNotify weekly forecast.

This version is specifically tuned for saltwater shore fishing — from the surf, rocks, jetties, beaches etc. With that being said, most of the principles apply very well to inshore boat or kayak anglers as well.

This version is specifically tuned for fishing the California coast, however many of the principles will apply anywhere you fish from shore, with some minor local differences.

Make sure to fish where there is some kind of structure. The best kind of structure to target is rocks, kelp, and eelgrass.
