It's a GREAT day for fishing.
Light winds keep casting manageable, though sunny periods may make fish more wary.
Widespread cloud cover is expected, reducing glare and helping fish feed beyond dawn and dusk.
Winds around 3 mph in the morning and 6 mph in the afternoon. A light breeze should keep casting manageable while adding some surface ripple.
Estimated water temp around 54°F is slightly outside the prime range, but fish should still be feeding.
A little rain is possible, but the amount looks too small to affect fishing much.

Pyramid Lake sits in the hills along I-5, north of Castaic in Los Angeles County. You can spend a day fishing from the bank here, or launch a boat and explore the coves farther out. Stripers are one of the fish people come for, with largemouth and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, crappie and bluegill also in the lake.
If you’re coming without a boat, Emigrant Landing gives you a straightforward place to start. There’s an accessible fishing pier, along with picnic tables and restrooms, so you don’t have to plan a long shoreline hike just to get a line in. Take the Smokey Bear Road exit from I-5 and follow Pyramid Lake Road to the entrance.
The boat ramp is at Emigrant Landing too. A boat lets you explore beyond the main recreation area, including picnic spots that can only be reached from the water. That’s a different outing from staying near the pier: bring what you’ll need for the day rather than counting on facilities in every cove.
These are starting options, not the only places fish hold. Give yourself time to explore the areas open to fishing, and check lake access and closure updates before choosing a boat-in destination. Plan on an entrance fee at Emigrant Landing, with an additional launch fee if you’re bringing a boat.
