It's a GREAT day for fishing.
Favorable water temperature supports feeding; periods of cloud cover may reduce glare.
Substantial cloud cover may reduce glare and help fish feed beyond dawn and dusk.
Estimated water around 63°F is favorable for feeding. Preferred temperatures vary by species.
Winds around 2 mph in the morning and 3 mph in the afternoon. Light winds favor casting, though near-calm periods offer less surface ripple to help conceal you and your lure.
A little rain is possible, but the amount looks too small to affect fishing much.

Lake Perris sits between Perris and Moreno Valley, with bass, catfish, bluegill and redear sunfish giving you a few different ways to spend a day fishing. You can work on catching bass, settle in with bait for catfish, or bring a lighter outfit for panfish. For bass, the water around Alessandro Island is worth exploring by boat. If you’re after catfish, the east end and southwest corner of the dam are places to look into.
For a shore trip, Bernasconi has bank access and picnic space. If you’d rather fish from a pier, head to the west end of Lot 1. The fishing pier has accessible parking and a restroom nearby, which is helpful if you’re bringing someone who can’t comfortably scramble along the bank.
You don’t need a boat to get started, though. The pier and Bernasconi are two options for a first visit, and you can explore other permitted shoreline as you get to know the lake.
Check your entrance hours before heading out. Bernasconi has its own schedule, and boaters have an earlier off-the-water deadline than the park’s closing time. Vehicle entry and boat launching have separate charges.
